Dr Daniel Chan taught French part-time at the NUS Centre for Language Studies for seven years before being appointed as a full-time lecturer there in early 2013.
He received his teacher training at the National Institute of Education, and his previous teaching stints as a French language teacher include those at the MOE Language Centre, St Francis Methodist Secondary and Alliance Française de Singapour. His PhD in Linguistics was awarded by Université de Paris Diderot (Paris 7) in France. Prior to that, he completed his DEA (Master's Degree) in Linguistics at Université de Paris Diderot (Paris 7) under a French Government scholarship, and his Maîtrise (Bachelor's with Honours Degree) at Université de Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris 3) under a Public Service Commission scholarship.
