Ms. KITAI Saeko joined the Centre for Language Studies as an Instructor in August 2006. Her career as a teacher of Japanese started in Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, Malaysia, despatched by the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. She worked for the Japan Foundation at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as a visiting lecturer, the Department of Education, Victoria, Australia as a Japanese adviser and the Department of Education and the Arts, Queensland, Australia as a state language adviser. She also taught in Monash University as a sessional tutor. She obtained her M.A.(Applied Japanese Linguistics) in Monash University, Dip. Ed.(Secondary and Primary) in Monash University and B.A.(English) in Kobe College. Her current research interests include pedagogy, assessment, socio-linguistics and translation.
